TIPS TO GET CHEAPER CAR INSURANCE

  1. If you have recently passed your driving test and now hold a full driving licence.

  2. If you have Open Driving (drivers over 25 with full licence) consider restricting the cover to named drivers.

  3. Consider restricting driving to yourself and your spouse only.

  4. If your spouse already has their own car insurance policy.

  5. If your car is 10 years old or greater you may wish to reduce cover from Comprehensive to Third Party Fire & Theft risks only.

  6. If you are not earning a full No Claims Discount complete the Driving Instructors Register programme with a Driving School.

  7. If you have a new car you may not require cover for a Breakdown Service as most new cars are covered for 12 months free of charge when you purchase your car.

  8. If you use your car for business check with us as occasional business use may be covered free of charge.

  9. Some insurance policies offer up to 17.5% of a reduction to its policyholders if they have no points on their license, or a reduction of up to 10% for up to 2 points on their license.

  10. Choose a car with a relatively small engine, as less powerful cars are cheaper to insure.

  11. Drive carefully. The best way to reduce the cost of your motor insurance is to build up your no claims bonus.
